Target UR Living Sermon Series
Daily life has an unparalleled way of widening its offerings to us by the hour. It will quickly offer opportunities to broaden our attention and engage us with so many items that our productivity is missing the most important target in life. The modern-day term “multitasking” insist that we can focus on many things at one time. Even a computer will bog down with multiple things to do at one time. You can’t multitask when shooting an arrow. We are created for one focus. One theme. There will always be offerings and opportunities to invest ourselves into certain cultural themes, go to this place, to get involved in this organization, etc. Rat race. From old technology to the new speed of “smart-life”, we may be less productive than ever before. What if you could do one thing and do it well? Finish the task. Complete the mission.
TARGET UR LIVING is TCAA’s new sermon series to center on what the Lord desires for each of our lives. From our birth to the journey of living until now are we leveling at the intended target the Lord has for our lives? Since we are fearfully and wonderfully made, so how are we using His creation? At this present time are we cultivated to do the Lord’s work? Do we charge ahead with the Gospel of Christ? It’s time to hit the target of God’s will. Jesus will provide powerful, centered aim for each of our careers to unswervingly affect the culture and point people toward the bullseye of what God desires.
You have heard the news, right? We are in our newly renovated worship center! It has been a long journey but one that was guided by the hand of God. He is so faithful. We had our celebration on Sunday, January 29th. We have been in for close to 2 months and the Mission Cafe is already producing. We are currently in the process of planning our first TCAA Mission Trip to Cuba!!! How exciting is that?!?! We are looking forward to many more mission trips that will reap the benefits of Mission Cafe. Remember, our job is to stay faithful to our Vision: Connecting Lost People To A Mature Walk With Jesus. Who wouldn’t want to a part of something AMAZING!
We wouldn’t be here first and foremost without God, He has made everything possible, but we are thankful for all of you. You have given above and beyond your normal giving to make our building happen. The Youth are back in business in their building and we are in ours. Now let’s get to business and make God’s Kingdom bigger through our community involvement and missions locally and globally.
Bear with us as we revamp our Mission Page!
Thank you for all you do. Now get up and GO!
It’s a big, big world. There are many “wide” roads a person can take with their life. There’s narrow way offered too? The Bible says that the way to life is through a narrow, one person gatekeeper – Jesus Christ. He said there’s only one way, there’s only one truth, and there’s only one life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He also said that no one can go to the Father (God) except through Him. Big World, Narrow Way will uncover the exclusivity in Christ. This Sermon series starts March 26, 2017, in TCAA’s Sunday services: 8 am, 9:30 am, and 11 am.
So…here we are, less then 1 year from the time we made our church commitment to rebuild. Not only did we rebuild the Worship Center, but we made a commitment to rebuild the way we think. We changed our Vision to focus on what matters most, Connecting Lost People To A Mature Walk With Christ. Now it is all complete. We are open and looking forward to a new year in our renovated Worship Center. God has blessed TCAA immensely, with a wonderful congregation who stepped up to see this through, all the helping hands He provided, minimal kinks and our staff. God is Good.
We invite you to stop by Mission Cafe for a delicious cup of coffee. Mission Cafe was opened to provide additional funds to those serving on the Mission field. Some of the proceeds go to support our local and international missions.
WOW!! Doesn’t it seem like just yesterday we had our Time to Build Celebration Sunday? Doesn’t it seem like we just made commitments together for an adventure of rebuilding? So much has happened, but one thing has remained constant…our faithful God. He has brought us through so much these past few months and will continue to do so. This is our Season of Celebration and to draw nearer to God and to draw people closer to Him. Isn’t that what he created us for? We are glad and anxious for this new chapter to unfold at TCAA and look forward to turning the page with each of you. We hope that you will be able to come and celebrate with us Sunday, January 29th at 8am, 9:30am, 11am and again at 5pm for a Farewell and Thank You Celebration to Pastor Dennis for all he has done for TCAA over the past 20 years.
Thank you to our Faithful Ministry Partners at Lone Oak Baptist Church from Paducah, Kentucky. They have come out on 2 different Mission Trips. The first to tear down the stage when we first started preparing the building for renovation and the second to help clean up from construction. We appreciate them so much as they have saved us from needing to hire outside help. Thank you!!
A lot has happened since our last blog update!
After VBS 2015, our kids went off to Children’s Camp and our youth had another exciting year at Zona, where they were joined by Pastor Randy! Not much happened the latter part of the year, except the finishing touches of the new Vision at TCAA and planning for the first part of 2016.
January 2016, things definitely went into overdrive. The transition of Pastor Dennis and Pastor Randy took place. Pastor Randy has taken his role as Senior Pastor of TCAA and Pastor Dennis as Associate Pastor/Founding Pastor. The final transition is planned for January 2017, Pastor Dennis will retire after 49+ years of being in ministry! Planning for TCAA Time to Build Campaign was in full swing!
Our focus was Nehemiah: Brick by Brick. We asked our congregation to pray about the commitment they would make toward Time to Build. Our desire is that God leads the hearts of his people to commit to Time to Build. During this time we had our kids, including youth, take part in the campaign. They made their personal commitments as well. Our children had Time to Build banks that they used to collect change.
In February 2016 we began sending “Save the Dates” for our Dessert Celebration that would unveil the plan to rebrand TCAA and begin the process of rebuilding our sanctuary.
April 2016 we hosted a Dessert Celebration to announce Time to Build! This wasn’t just the beginning of a building campaign, it was the beginning of rebranding who we are, changing our mission! During this event we announced our new Vision Statement and gathered monetary commitments from the ones who attended the event. Our Vision:
May 2016 TCAA Celebrated! We held one service at 9:30am. Our children brought their banks full of money to give for Time to Build. They collected $2500.00 just in change!
June 2016…CONSTRUCTION has begun! Our building should be complete by November 2016!
ReUp will be held September 25th, the kids will bring their banks back again! We are so excited for the changes being made at TCAA and for a new start in the rebuilt sanctuary this fall! The Journey continues.
