There are over 2350 verses in the Bible referring to money. Jesus said more about money than heaven or hell. The sinless Son of God said to us that we couldn’t serve God and money with our lives. He added that we would love one and hate the other. This is found to be so true. For many of us, it takes a while to discover that Jesus tells the truth because he is the personification of truth. Learn to listen ahead and learn before.
This September we are focusing on getting financially fit. The Bible also says in Proverbs…
The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender. [Proverbs 22:7 ESV]
This summer a few of us at TCAA focused on what it may be like to attempt financial fitness. Getting out of debt takes much longer, but in nine weeks five groups of TCAA members took Financial Peace University. At the end, the numbers were incredible what we, in a short time (9 weeks), had managed to pay off and debt in many families was substantially lowered.
After listening to many financial geniuses, these two things ring true between them all: don’t use debt and give generously. The Apostle Paul quotes Jesus in the Book of Acts…
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” [Acts 20:35 ESV]
We need to start somewhere. How about here? How about now? Let’s do it together. Allow God to change your heart and mind….let FREEDOM bring….us out of sin and out of debt.
Glorious day for such a time as this.
