We connect people to great online deals or call to tell them about the managers special at the store. We connect people to great food at new restaurants. We tell our friends about the wonderful new family movie from Pixar. We brag on the Diamondbacks, Suns or Coyotes. We are “connectors.”
Connecting people to Jesus should be as natural as telling someone about the “good deals, good meals or good teams.” But many of us find it difficult to connect others with the good news of Jesus Christ. The idea of talking to someone about Jesus can cause us to break out in a cold sweat or go run for the nearest closet.
Andrew connected his brother to Jesus: The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. John 1:41-42
It is easy to forget how many around us are hurting and need direction for their lives, but they really don’t know where to turn. The Good News is Jesus has the power to transform people’s lives today. The focus of “Connecting People to Jesus” is for us to pray, to share our story, and invite people to connect with Jesus—one person at a time.
